As a pediatrician, I am often asked about the benefits of sports for children. Parents wonder whether it’s worth the time, effort, and occasional bumps and bruises. My answer is always a resounding yes! Sports provide a wealth of physical, mental, and social benefits that help children develop into healthy, well-rounded individuals. Additionally, sports are a great way for parents to connect with their child, whether driving them to practice and games or cheering from the sidelines.


Sports Promote Physical Health

One of the most obvious benefits of sports is physical activity. In today’s digital age, where screen time is at an all-time high, regular exercise is more crucial than ever. Engaging in sports helps children:
